The Brink

In 2023 Steve Hackman launched THE BRINK, an original four-part immersive music project, combining elements of music, production design, fashion and film. The music is an amalgamation of the styles and techniques developed over the past ten years of exploring the spectrum between classical and popular music. The performing artists, including vocalists, piano, synthesizers, bass, drums, woodwinds, and string quartet, were representative of this range and journey. The project included collaborators Jacob Jonas of Jacob Jonas the Company, who contributed as creative director, fashion designer Greg Lauren, who designed the wardrobe, and visual artist Michael N. Meyer, who created live media and experimental film. Part I and II, seventy-five minutes each, premiered on March 9 and June 8 respectively.
